Time to Give

Audemars Piguet pulled out all the stops this year in raising money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS with celebrity autographed engraved watches that were auctioned off at a glamourous event next door at the Four Seasons Hotel. The window, which we designed, built and installed, was a tri-phase project highlighting the auction, then the TONY Awards and finally, promoting the watch itself: their Royal Oak Offshore /57 st Limited Edition timepiece.
Celebrity autograph endorsements included Jay-Z, Meryl Streep, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Hugh Jackman, Antonio Banderas, Vanessa Williams and Neil Patrick Harris, among others.

The iconic city skyline was meticulously cut out of aluminum laminate with many brightly back-lit windows on both sides.

Visible Light

To celebrate the opening of a new exhibit entitled "Visible Light" at the Steuben Gallery showcasing photographs of the brilliant optical effects of light shining through Steuben Glass, we installed a front window display showing one of the exhibit's photographs along with the piece of glass that was used to create the image in the photograph. The black lacquered base reflects the image and holds the slender steel support that showcases the crystal fish.

The interior of the store was re-styled to reflect the exhibit's focus.

St. Judes Christmas Preview

Although the hot summer sun is cooking the streets of New York, inside this press preview of St. Jude's Charity Christmas Catalog, winter is only a wonderland away. We recently designed and installed this holiday preview event (including building the risers, installing the trees and red carpets, and styling) to showcase the new products that have been donated by companies to support the St. Jude's charity. The children who benefit from the programs at St. Jude's are also invited so the press can meet them as well!

It's a wonderful charity and if you wish to know more, please click here and make a donation!

Meatpacking Mythologies

The new hugo boss window on 14th street, installed by Geoff Howell Studio, is a giant "rusty" Tyvek cut-out that "celebrates the exceptional history and mythology of the meatpacking district" says artist Beatrice Coron.

She goes on to say "to depict a sampling of the myriad activities, I chose an improbable view, showing at once the buildings, the High Line, the Hudson promenade and the river. My intention was to catch the buzz and energy of the now trendy neighborhood, and recall some scenes of the past, such as Bastille day at Florent or carcasses at Gansewoort market.

In the accumulation of scenes, you can see: voyeurs, artists, decision makers, writers, readers, posers, lovers, shoppers, patrons, computer addicts, carnivores, party-goers, bikers, cyclists, New Yorkers and tourists. Among the scenes, there is a shepherd on the high line, a cow swims at the Gansevoort hotel, an Egyptian cow is at the Standard Hotel, an angel is partying, and a Hugo Boss patron has a leashed piglet. Is it a commercial, a movie or an art installation? You can make your own stories from these neighborhood scenes"

The following images show different viewpoints and close-ups of Coron's beautiful story-telling cut-outs.
