Spot On!

For the Lexington Ave facade of Bloomingdale's, the windows were freshly done to herald the arrival of Giorgio Armani himself, his first appearance in the US in years.  The full length of the windows at Bloomingdale's were masked in black vinyl to create large circular openings through which could be viewed the  women's collection against a background of black and white checkerboard, Bloomingdale's signature pattern.

From across the street there were a total of 6 portholes side by side, the effect of which you can see in an example below.

The gold lining of Armani

Giorgio Armani asked Geoff Howell Studio to produce the props for the Lexington Ave. windows of Bloomingdale's.  Understated simplicity is always the Armani by-word. In this case, it comprised of  a single mannequin in each window, backlit with a heavenly glow, and framed with floor-to-ceiling gold-leafed panels--all resting on a matte black floor.

What is black and white and red all over?

Hugo Boss hired us to design and create a Mondrian-inspired display for their moment in the Bloomingdale's windows in Soho. Three windows hold three dimensional wooden structures with red plexiglass panels insets, all 11 feet high, the fourth window is a flat vinyl application, for design continuity, as there is no display area there. Retro-fabulous!
